Markus Hohenwarter, Professor for Mathematics Education at JKU,
Creator and project leader of GeoGebra
The open source software GeoGebra joins features of dynamic geometry,
computer algebra, and spreadsheets in a single easy-to-use package for
mathematics education from elementary school to university level. This
tool is available in 50 languages and used by millions of students and
teachers around the globe. In cooperation with RISC, I plan to
establish the headquarters of the International GeoGebra Institute in
Hagenberg to lead a world-wide research, development, and training
network of 30+ universities. In this talk I want to start
brainstorming about possible future collaboration and projects.
Currently, 5 student projects of GeoGebra are already funded by
Google.
