Le Petit Prince / The Little Prince

The multilingual Little Prince

The well-known tale from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

The French honoured our little chap by putting him on a 50-Francs banknote. But this was before the Euro was introduced in 2002.

I appreciate any feedback from the world outside. In particular, I am interested in further translations of this quotation. Give also a reference to the source where you found the translation. I know in some languages exist more than one translation. Please, include:

  1. name of the language in English, e.g., German
  2. name of the language in this particular language, e.g. Deutsch
  3. title of the book in this language, e.g., Der Kleine Prinz
  4. publishing company (with address, at least the town), e.g., Verlag Volk und Welt, Berlin
  5. year of publication, e.g., 1989
  6. ISBN
  7. if the language is not very well known, the region or country where it is spoken
  8. Translator, e.g., Grete and Josef Leitgeb
  9. your own name and e-mail and/or WWW address

A LaTeX and/or HTML version would be nice. If you don't know how to write in this form, be sure to include in some way all the special characters. Of course, GIFs are also allowed.

I also think of having a list of stories how people encountered the Little Prince, what they like most and how this guy affected their lives. If you want to share such a small story with the rest of the world, just send me an e-mail with an HTML version in English.

And last but not least I want to thank all of the people who helped me to extend my initially short list. It is a pleasure for me to see that there are so many who like the Little Prince.

You find all the phrases at http://www.risc.uni-linz.ac.at/people/hemmecke/lprince.
